We are looking for a Spanish-speaking volunteer!

Help us coordinate our Diaper Bank and get supplies to families who need them!

Purpose for Volunteer Position: Through a partnership with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers serves as a community diaper hub on the near south side of Milwaukee for families with young children who are struggling to afford clean diapers. Emergency diapers are available to patients of the clinic and community members. As we transition this service from medical to community health, we are in need of a volunteer to assist us with coordination of these efforts.

Benefits to the volunteer: Volunteering provides an opportunity to build communication, planning and organizational skills, while improving access to necessities in a community based healthcare setting. This is a great resume builder for anyone interested in maternal and child health, community strengthening, social work, public health and others.

Duties of volunteer:
Coordinate diaper activities including:
-responding to phone inquiries/requests
-documenting diaper bank usage
-maintaining inventory
-assist with reporting and ordering
-connect diaper bank visitors to other resources as needed (via resource guide, referral pathways or other as time/need allows.
-prep diaper packs for pick up
-assist in the overall planning of activities and provide feedback regarding usage, improvement and client need.
