Help give children the powerful gift of new books to help them flourish into strong readers!
What is this event?
United Way partners with Scholastic Inc. to host My Very Own Library at 14 local Milwaukee Public Schools. At these book fairs, each student gets to pick out 3 FREE books to bring home with them and create their very own library.
Volunteer at this event:
- Socialize and help students pick out their 3 books
- Help keep books organized on shelves
- Assist with check-out process of FREE books by using a register
- Assist in other areas of the classroom if needed

Other Information:
Some shifts may slightly be different depending on the start time of the school (Times may vary anywhere between 7:30am - 3:00pm depending on school) Expect times to be slightly different.
Select one shift or select two and stay for the day!
- Once you sign-up you will receive a confirmation of the shift time.
- Teams of 2-4 per shift/school are accepted!
- If you are bilingual (Spanish-speaking) please note that as well.
