Honey Suckle Bush is seeking volunteer grant writers to help us secure funding for a few early-stage community projects. We currently do not have any grant writers on our team, and there are no templates or training materials available—this opportunity is for someone who’s ready to figure it out, try their best, and learn by doing.
About Us
Honey Suckle Bush is a grassroots nonprofit focused on mutual aid, community support, and resilience-building across Wisconsin. Our current projects in need of funding include:
- A healing space/community garden
- Emergency resource programs for families in need
- Youth arts and empowerment initiatives
What You’ll Be Doing
- Independently researching grant opportunities
- Writing and submitting proposals for applicable grants
- Learning as you go—no formal mentorship, but we’re happy to support your efforts
- Communicating with our small team to understand project needs
Who This Is For
This is ideal for someone who:
- Wants to break into nonprofit work or grant writing
- Is okay working without a roadmap and creating their own process
- Enjoys research and writing
- Is a self-starter, motivated, and willing to experiment
We understand this is a big ask, but it's a real chance to make a tangible impact—and build skills at the same time. If you’ve got the passion and drive, we’d love to work with you.
