Keep families connected! A volunteer family interaction supervisor monitors visits between children in alternative care and their parent(s) or other family members. The volunteer’s role is to supervise the visit, making sure it is safe and productive. Transporting the child and/or parent to and from the visit is usually also part of the position. Visits are held at a site determined by the social worker and family and may occur at the department, in the community, or in the home. Visits can take place during the day, evenings, or weekends. The volunteer’s schedule is flexible and determined by the hours they want to work and the assignments they accept from the volunteer coordinator. Once a case is accepted the schedule is consistent. Mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate. Help strengthen our community's ability to assist families in crisis and create a ripple effect of positive change.
