Volunteer Job Description: Raffle Ticket Sales at the Kenosha Classic Cruise-in

Position Title: Raffle Ticket Sales Volunteer

Event: Kenosha Classic Cruise-in

Organization: United Way of Kenosha County

Date: August 30, 2025

Time Commitment: 2-hour shift between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. 

Position Summary: As a Raffle Ticket Sales Volunteer for the Kenosha Classic Cruise-in, you will play a crucial role in helping raise funds to support the United Way of Kenosha County. Your primary responsibility will be to sell raffle tickets to event attendees, encouraging them to participate and contribute to our community's well-being. By engaging with participants, you will not only help generate financial support but also increase awareness about the valuable work United Way does.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and organize the raffle ticket sales booth at the designated area. 
  • Greet event attendees in a friendly and welcoming manner, creating a positive atmosphere.
  • Explain the purpose and benefits of purchasing raffle tickets to potential buyers.
  • Effectively communicate the details of the raffle prizes, including their value and significance.
  • Accurately handle cash transactions and provide correct change to customers.
  • Maintain an organized record of sold and unsold tickets and track funds collected.
  • Assist with answering questions related to United Way's mission and programs.
  • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and event staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Promote a sense of community and encourage event attendees to engage with United Way initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with event rules, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Clean-up area at the end of the event. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A genuine interest in supporting the local community and the mission of United Way of Kenosha County.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and approachable demeanor.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to commit to the designated time slot.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in an outdoor environment.
