Ready to get into the Halloween spirit? The Green Bay YMCA is hosting its annual Halloween at the Y and we need your help to make it spook-tacular!

There are opportunities for everyone! We are looking for volunteers to help direct families, play games, give out candy, and help create an amazing event!

The event will take place from 3:00pm - 4:00pm on Saturday, October 25th at the West Side YMCA , located at 601 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, WI 54313.

The event will take place at the Ferguson Family YMCA , located at 235 N Jefferson Street Green Bay, WI 54301. Metered parking is available on the surrounding streets or in the Pine St ramp across from the Y. Please arrive at 3:45 PM to receive instructions for volunteering.

Youth Sports at the Y are game-based programs that teach children (ages 4-14 years) the fundamentals and rules of an individual sport.  The Y also incorporates character development into the program for each sport. Sport schedules rotate throughout the year and include times for basketball, tennis, football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball.

Commitment:

          Seeking volunteers who can commit to one 7 week session.

The Y seeks to meet the needs of all of our members at whatever their level. One of our special, long-time members needs help moving around our weight room and from machine to machine while he exercises.

The Personal Assistant Volunteer (aged 18 years or older) is not expected to train or physically assist the member, but to set the machine at the correct weight, and height, and to spend time talking to and getting to know the member. Patience, a good sense of humor, a caring heart, and a desire to help is key in this position. This is the perfect opportunity for volunteers who are outgoing & energetic!

Volunteers must commit to volunteering at a minimum of once a week for about 1-2 hours each week. Volunteers will work with the member to set the schedule, but typically help is needed between 10 AM - 1 PM most weekdays.

Disability, Recreation, Experiences, and Memories, also known as “D.R.E.A.M night”, is an opportunity for adults with special needs, including cognitive and/or physical disabilities, to get involved at the Y! Activities include open gym, exercise classes, crafts, swimming, occasional dances, and more!

Seeking volunteers who can commit to 1-2 times per month.

Child Watch is a drop-in babysitting program, intended for the children of members and guests who are using the building. Volunteers assist staff by engaging with children in age appropriate activities, games, crafts, and educational experiences to promote their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Volunteers must be aged 14 or older, and preference is giving to volunteers who have experience babysitting and are certified babysitters. This position requires individuals to be outgoing, energetic, and be willing to engage children, ages 6 months to 7 years old. Volunteers must be able to think on their feet, be flexible with daily duties, and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
