As a fundraising / grant writing volunteer, you will work with our resource development team to ensure New Leaf Foods’s access to financial resources which fund our projects and events. You will have the opportunity to help the team find grants to apply for and will assist in writing and editing grant applications. Team members also brainstorm and manage fundraising campaigns, and come together to conceptualize ways to monetize events to expand outreach for our mission. We are looking for someone with some previous grant writing experience for this role!

We're looking for volunteers to help create captivating social media content that is relevant to our mission and projects! As a member of our Communications Team, you would work closely with the team lead who will give you content assignments and ideas to keep us in our followers' feeds, portraying us in a positive light, entertaining, informing, educating, and/or inspiring them. We strive to post 3-5 times a week with a variety of content formats: photos, graphics, and videos, but this can change depending on your availability! Experience editing short-form video and creating graphics is a plus, but not required. The time commitment for this role is flexible and ongoing. We encourage you to attend our events to capture content, some of which will occur on evenings and weekends.

We are looking for volunteers for local farmers markets and other events this summer! We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help us run our booth, connect with the community, and share the story behind our mission. Shifts will vary depending on market schedules throughout the summer, and we will send more details as they become available.

What you’ll do: Set up and run our booth, chat with marketgoers about New Leaf’s mission, distribute materials, and answer questions.  Whether you're a longtime supporter or just curious to learn more, we’d love to have you on our team!

An Education & Events Team member volunteer works collaboratively with the team to plan and execute educational initiatives and events. Team members work to educate our community on food-related issues, skills, and resources. They also determine what educational content aligns with New Leaf Foods’s mission, goals and values. 

Education & Events Team Goals: 

Plan and execute educational events for community members 

Determine which educational topics are relevant to New Leaf Foods mission and goals 

Empower the public with information regarding food-related issues, skills, and resources

Ensure New Leaf Foods’s access to financial resources

Build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors/sponsors

Expand our organization’s capacity to provide more community members with locally-grown, healthy foods and educational resources

Secure funding for our current and future projects 

Secure funding to support operating costs for New Leaf Foods

Possible Resource Development Team Member Responsibilities: 

Researching grants for our organization to apply for

A volunteer Communications Team member produces content for New Leaf Foods, adhering to our organization’s communication strategies, values and goals. Working with the Communications Team Lead, Communications Coordinator and other team members, this volunteer will have the opportunity to inform our community on local, healthy foods and resources, as well as our events and projects.  

Communication Team’s Goals: 

Promote our vision: good food for good health, now and for generations

Promote a clean environment for all

Create connections between local consumers, farmers and producers 

Work collaboratively with community, civic, business and educational institutions

Celebrate healthy local foods and farms

Provide local consumers with information on how to access local healthy food

The Seymour Park Food Forest project aims to help alleviate food insecurity and food deserts within the City of Green Bay by growing healthy local food in this public park in a way that is sustainable, costs less money over time, and reduces maintenance for the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.  It is a pilot project in partnership with New Leaf Foods, the City of Green Bay, and the Seymour Park Neighborhood Association. This project is located at the Frank B. Seymour Park at 314 S Ashland Ave Green Bay, WI 54303.

Volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis to help to plant, weed, water, harvest, and maintain the garden and food forest. Occasionally, special volunteer projects/events may also be held at Seymour Park. We're looking for volunteers with garden knowledge as well as people that want to learn.
