More and more members of our community need help keeping food on the table for their families. Be part of a team that provides a dignified and respectful shopping experience for guests accessing the WayForward Resources food pantry by:

Warmly welcoming food pantry guests, explaining the pantry flow, and offering assistance, as needed Assist with other food pantry tasks, as needed and as time allows

The ideal volunteer will be available for a minimum of one weekly or bi-weekly volunteer shift for at least 3 months or as a substitute for regularly scheduled volunteers. Of course, this is with the understanding that a volunteer may need flexibility for vacation, sickness, appointments, etc.

Volunteers shifts are available Tuesday through Saturday for volunteers aged 18 and above.

Help the WayForward Resources Clothing Center provide good quality clothing to our neighbors by:

Helping to organize and display clothing in the shopping areaGreeting, assisting, and checking out guests Being available for a regular shift - weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly

The ideal volunteer will be available for a minimum of one weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly volunteer shift for at least 3 months. Of course, this is with the understanding that a volunteer may need flexibility for vacation, sickness, appointments, etc.

Volunteer shifts are currently available on:

Tuesdays from 9:30am-12pm or 11:45am-2:15pmWednesdays from 3:30pm-7:15pmThursdays from 9:30am-12pm or 11:45am-2:15pm

You can help make it possible for WayForward to have an incoming supply of food and clothing for guests.

As a Donor Greeter you will:

Warmly greet food or clothing donors at the Distribution Center and follow established messaging and procedures Help donors fill out a donation slip and make sure the information is complete Sort food donations, as time permits Clean and tidy volunteer area at end of shift

Donations ebb and flow so this is a great volunteer assignment for someone who is flexible and willing to help sort food, complete other small tasks,  or who would like some quiet time to work on something of their own - read a book, bring a craft, work on your laptop, etc.

The ideal volunteer will be available for a minimum of one regular shift on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis for at least 3 months. Of course, this is with the understanding that a volunteer will likely need flexibility for vacations, sickness, appointments, etc.

Volunteers are currently needed on:

Mondays from 12pm-2pmTuesdays from 9am-12pmFridays from 12pm-2pm

Help ensure that the food pantry shelves are full! 

As a WayForward Inventory Support volunteer you will:

Represent WayForward’s values while unloading pallets of food from deliveries or donations Safely label and store incoming food in 3 different temperature zonesStock food pantry shelves Miscellaneous tasks to keep the warehouse area in the Distribution Center clean, organized, and running smoothly Work as part of a team to complete all tasks in a safe manner (including team lifting)

The ideal volunteer will be available for a minimum of one weekly volunteer shift. Of course, this is with the understanding that a volunteer may need flexibility for vacation, sickness, appointments, etc.

Opportunities are currently available on:

Tuesdays from 9:30am-12pm or 12pm-2:30pm

Wednesdays from 7:30am-9:30am or 9:30am to 12pm

Thursdays from 9:30am-12pm

Fridays from 7:30am-9:30am or 9:30am-12pm

Whether you are available for regular volunteering or just occasionally, our Clean Team needs you! 

The dedicated volunteers who form the Clean Team meet every Thursday afternoon at the Way Forward distribution center to make the food pantry and clothing center shine for our guests and to maintain best practices for health and safety.

It's not high profile work, but as the Clean Team members say, "You make a difference in just 1.5 hours a week and you get to see the results of your work before you leave. It's a great team. Everyone works well together and we have a great time."

No experience is necessary and all training will be provided including ongoing support and training, as needed, from WayForward staff and experienced volunteers.

This volunteer assignment is fun, easy, and vital to our mission of serving our community!

The Clean Team is entrusted with the following tasks and responsibilities in our Distribution Center:

Sweep and/or mop floorsVacuum rugsWipe down surfacesOther tasks, as needed
