Greeters for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site will welcome all participants and assist them with obtaining the correct paperwork as well as helping with the completion of paperwork if necessary. For 14 weeks, work with other dedicated volunteers to help return the hard working money earned by the people in Northwestern Wisconsin.  Being able to work with the public, follow directions, complete required testing, and participate in all required training will get done in January before opening.  Background checks are required before starting. Pick four hours or a whole day to dedicate to VITA.

Ashland Aging is looking for volunteer drivers for its Transportation Program. They will provide rides to medical appointments, shopping, or social and recreational activities.

Like to drive? Like to talk to people? Come make a difference. Decide how often you would like to drive.

Must have valid driver's license, good driving record, proof of liability insurance and a clean background check.

Ashland County Aging Unit is seeking office assistance to do shredding, filing, coping, front desk, etc. during their regular business hours of Monday through Friday 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 4 pm at their office in Ashland. Short- or long-term or long term opportunities available. Background check required along with training.

Come help the Shelter by becoming a front desk attendant. Help to answer questions from clients and from those that call in. Lock and unlock client's rooms as they come and go from the shelter. Other projects as needed are completed by the attendant. Training and background checks are required before taking the first shift.

Weekday or weekend shifts.  Depending on your schedule.

Color Coordinating Clothing. Organizing donations. Scheduling volunteers. Ringing up customers. All in the days work of a thrift shop volunteer.

Come help other like-mindedinded volunteers create an environment that is fun to work in along with helping those in need.

Schedules vary with you working 1 day per week or 1 day per month. Whatever works in your schedule.

Background checks and training are required before being scheduled for your first day.

For 14 weeks a year, tax preparers help to enter client's data into TaxSlayer, an online tax program provided by the IRS thru the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program or VITA. Come dedicate 1 day a week for 14 weeks to help file taxes. Training is self paced and starts in late November or early December. All preparers are tested to either a basic or advance level. Partnered with an experienced preparer, never work alone until you are ready. Preparers will either met with clients in person every one hour and fifteen minutes or clients will drop off their information so that we can prepare their taxes.

Background checks are required of all volunteers. Training is done both self paced and in person before the season begins.

Continue to maintain housekeeping at the Ashland Community Shelter by sorting, folding and putting away sheets, picking up the common areas, and just help out in general from maintenance to washing windows.

Weekday or weekend shifts depending on your comfort level.
