Volunteer: Specialized Exercise Volunteer

The STAR Association offers a variety of Specialized Exercise Programs that provide modifications and adaptations for participants with a variety of disorders and diseases.

STAR has a need for 1:1 mentors for participants who need extra assistance during programs. Volunteers will assist with set up and clean up of the program. No prior experience with adaptive physical activity is required. We will train you.

Individuals must reach out to the STAR Center at info@starcenterlacrosse.org or 608-797-6295 to begin volunteering.

Volunteers must SIGN UP on SIGNUP Genius (found on website) and must complete Orientation Training and Quiz before volunteering. You must complete the waivers for volunteers as well. 

Programs run at the STAR Center, Monday/ Wednesday and Tuesdays/Thursdays. View the specialized exercise schedule below!

This is an excellent experience for students or community members interested in Adaptive Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Special Education, and Sports Science. University students are not expected to volunteer during midterms and finals- we are able to work with your schedule.

STAR has a need for mentors for our athletes, help running drills, and assistance in preparing and storing equipment for sessions.  Volunteers will participate in the activities. No prior experience with adaptive sports, specialized exercise, or working with individuals with disabilities. We will train you.

Programs run at Central High School on Sunday's and at the STAR Center (1011 La Crosse St) on the weekdays.
