Volunteer needed to assist with receiving deliveries, offloading, weighing in product, sorting and storing donations, taking out recycling. This is a moderately physical position. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays are the days when more help is needed.

We are in need of outreach committee members. Our outreach committee is responsible for education the community on community resources, sheltering, and pets. Outreach members should have experience handling animals and would preferably spend some time volunteering IN the shelter each week to become familiar with our animals. As an outreach committee member, you will work behind the scenes, preparing for events, and then will also help out at the events. A victim’s first point of contact is a critical step in the healing process.  As an on-call SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Volunteer, you will learn to:

Due to the extensive training, we ask volunteers for a 6 month commitment. Typically, each volunteer will be on-call two to three nights a month. Typical on-call hours are: 5:00 pm-7:00 am Monday-Friday and Weekend/Holiday hours. You do not need medical training to be a SANE Volunteer.

The COO is in charge of creating and maintaining partnerships, gathering funds through events, campaigns, fundraisers, and partnerships, and oversight of the chapter supervisor. This position will be essential for the growth and development of EmBark in the coming years. We are looking for someone who wants to work hand-in-hand with the CEO to grow EmBark and benefit as many survivors as possible. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree - preferably a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, psychology, social work, business, or a relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus. 

If a student, be in progress of getting a bachelors or masters degree that is relevant to duties and/or our mission (nonprofit management, business, finance, social work, psychology, etc.)

Have a passion for service and helping survivors of DV/IPV, sexual assault, and child abuse

Very organized and great communicator 

​Have managerial experience or the ability to delegate tasks efficiently.

All volunteers are required to go through a Class A Volunteer Orientation prior to volunteering. 

The Oshkosh Parks department manages and maintains several acres of parks, shoreline and trails. Volunteers are needed to assist with various landscaping tasks such as invasive species control, mulching and weeding of flowers beds, cleaning of boat docks, and more!

Volunteers will be provided with appropriate tools but may need to supply their own work/gardening gloves. Landscaping projects may require a stricter schedule, however, volunteers signing up for weekly/biweekly projects may have a more flexible schedule.

Volunteers shall be 18 or older unless under supervision of an adult approved by the Oshkosh Parks staff.

Hope Care Package Drive

Community Benefit Tree (CBT) needs your support to host a care package drive and help families going through a medical crisis by providing some joy, hope and comfort.  When families have a sick loved one, they often are drained emotionally and financially.  We would like to send them care packages to assist them with this difficult time.  

Looking for companies, schools, churches, families and organizations to host a "Hope Care Package Drive". The collection box will display a list of needs to assemble the care packages to give to families in the community struggling with a medical crisis.  These items will be packaged and given to families who need immediate assistance.

Items needed:  Gas cards, Restaurant cards, Coffee Places gift cards, Grocery Store gift cards, board games, socks, blankets, lip balm, crossword puzzles, kid's toys, coloring books, crayons, pencils, and totes to put the items in.

Marathon county head start is in need of 4T to 6 T Boy's and girl's pants learning to use the toilet is one of the many important developmental milestones we work on with the children we serve. We all know that there can be many accidents while learning to use the toilet and having clean pants and underwear are necessary and we are running very low. 

Purpose: Shelter Assistants act as supplemental support to staff at both Pillars shelters. While Shelter Assistants are providing support throughout shelter for staff, Crisis Housing staff can provide one-on-one support to clients and provide intake interviews for incoming individuals & families.

Engage with museum guests at the All Aboard model railroad exhibit! The five train, 35-foot HO-scale layout features Milwaukee landmarks. The Conductor may be tasked with basic daily upkeep but will mainly engage with guests of all ages during open hours. The main goal of this role is to answer questions about the layout and facilitate understanding of how railroads work and have impacted the development of Milwaukee and innovation in general. MONEY COACH PROGRAM

The years leading up to high school graduation are critical to the formation of strong money management habits. Personal attention and guidance are the most effective ways to empower teens for a stable and successful financial future. Money Coach, specifically designed for teens from under-resourced communities, is our one-of-a-kind, semester-long financial mentoring program. Small groups of teens are matched with teams of volunteer coaches who guide them through in-depth financial literacy curriculum and provide one-on-one support as they put concepts into practice.

Money Coach is a multi-week program completed over a semester with high school juniors and seniors (Sept-Dec or Feb-May). Group sessions are held every other week, last 60-75-minutes, and focus on specific financial topics with interactive activities and discussion. One-on-one check ins (about 30 minutes each) are held on the weeks between the group sessions and allow for more in-depth focus on each teen's individual budget, expenses, and goals. As a volunteer, you'll mentor teens on their path to financial capability using well-designed curriculum and resources.

VOLUNTEER ROLES

SecureFutures' Money Coach program is a hands-on financial coaching program delivered to a group of high school students by volunteer coaches. The program aims to provide a deeper understanding of financial concepts and hands-on goal-setting through a lesson plan that focuses on direct volunteer-to-student interaction. The primary role of all SecureFutures volunteers is to engage students in financial education lessons by asking questions, leading discussions, and sharing professional and life experience. There are two distinct volunteer roles in the Money Coach program.

The Group Coach volunteer engages and encourages participants and leads the group sessions. The sessions serve to educate participants on financial literacy and to guide them in the development of action plans to achieve financial needs and goals. The group sessions take place every other week for the length of the program (about 6 group sessions). All curriculum and materials are provided. We intend to hold the group sessions in person, but sites will determine their visitor policies as they relate to COVID 19 safety protocols. Groups are generally consist of about 12-18 students.

The One-on-One Coach volunteer engages and encourages participants and conducts one-on-one check-ins. The check-ins enable the coach and students to build meaningful and supportive relationships. These take place every other week while the program runs (about 5 one-on-one check ins) and will be conducted by phone or virtually. One-on-one coaches are expected to attend the group sessions, as well. One-on-one coaches will be assigned 3-4 students to mentor.

Coaches help students to develop action plans to achieve financial needs and goals and guide them if they are faced with obstacles while working toward those goals. Students practice healthy money management skills and are provided the opportunity to earn a scholarship as they meet program benchmarks.

Preferred Talents and Interests:
● Desire to work with teens who come from economically disadvantaged families and communities.
● Desire to build meaningful relationships with teens.
● Experience with public speaking, presenting, or teaching.
● Working knowledge of foundational personal finance concepts. (Training and curriculum will be provided.)
● Basic computer skills.

Training:

All volunteers complete a 3 hour, in-person training. The training covers cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and student engagement techniques, as well as all of the logistics and curriculum for the program.

WHAT? Volunteer in an elementary classroom in the Coulee Region.  We currently run elementary JA programming in La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, La Crescent, Bangor and Tomah. Elementary programs consist of five 45-minute lessons. 

HOW DOES IT WORK? We take care of everything!  We provide a virtual volunteer training and then we match you with a teacher in the Coulee Region (you can indicate a preference for grade, area or school) and allow you to work with them to determine a schedule that works well for both.  Volunteers are provided with well-appointed kits and/or digital resources that are used to teach each lesson. The best part is our lessons are connected to each grade levels curriculum!

By volunteering for Junior Achievement YOU have the opportunity to be their inspiration! Our volunteers serve as role models by sharing their experience and preparing our youth by teaching our proven lessons that promote financial capability, work and career readiness, and business ownership. Here are a few comments from elementary teachers who were involved in JA this year. 

The Labyrinth Garden is a 90-foot diameter earth sculpture designed in the tradition of a seven-circuit Cretan labyrinth. It's a beautiful setting for meditation and reflection, lined with  perennials, annuals, herbs, bulbs and ornamental grasses. This garden was built by and continues to be completely maintained by local volunteers.

If you're an experienced gardener (or looking to learn!) you can join our volunteer crew seasonally, from April to October. Our primary needs include adopting a 15 to 30-foot section of garden to visit and maintain weekly. Each plot owner is responsible for weeding, deadheading, and working the soil. No watering or planting is necessary. (P.s. we are flexible if you can't make every week due to a vacation, etc. We're just looking for overall reliability!)

Ages 16+ for plot adoption please. This can also make a great volunteer opportunity for kids of all ages and parents/grandparents/guardians to do together!

SAVS (Sexual Assault Victims Services) is a service program that uses staff and trained volunteers to provide accompaniment, information and support to anyone victimized by sexual violence and their families. Volunteers serve as advocates who respond during non-office hours and on weekends. Volunteers are available to be present with victims during medical examinations, police reporting and during judicial proceedings - all depending on the needs and choices of the victim. The calls are occasional yet a trained volunteer who is able to connect with the victim at a critical time is important in our community. The Family Crisis Center receives the calls and makes the connection with the volunteer advocate who returns the call and offers support. Reminding a victim that they are not alone is possible because ...no SAVS provider is ever alone.

Volunteers must be 18 years old, have access to an insured vehicle, commit to one year of service, successfully complete 20 hours of training and attend monthly in-service/support meetings. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a must. Successful candidates are good listeners and able to be non-judgemental and empathetic in supporting individuals victimized by sexual assault.

In our Community-Based Mentoring Program, a mentor will give a Little the invaluable gift of being a caring and consistent adult friend to them.  By simply changing the perspective of their world, you can literally start changing their life.  This can happen while giving just a few hours of your time each month.  It's really pretty simple - by doing everyday activities with a child, you can make a BIG difference in the life of a local child. 

In the Community-Based Mentoring Program, matches between the Big and Little meet in the community each week at a time convenient for both the volunteer and the child.  No cost/low cost activities are encouraged - after all, it is about spending time together, not spending money.  Some activity ideas are playing catch at a park, riding bikes, doing arts and crafts or leaning a new skill together.

Girls on the Run teams are led by volunteer coaches. Coaches teach 3rd - 5th graders life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. Girls on the Run hosts 2 seasons per year, spring and fall.

Coaches lead team practices 2x/week and are 90 minutes long.

At Community Elementary, practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15 - 4:45pm. Our Spring 2023 season runs from April 3 - June 3. 

Coaches deliver a well laid out, easy to follow curriculum designed to be user friendly. We train coaches to build relationships, create positive inclusive environments and to focus on girls’ individualized efforts and growth. We embrace coaches from all backgrounds and gender identities, regardless of prior coaching or running experience. 

Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Important social, emotional, and physical skills and abilities are developed and reinforced throughout the program. At each season's conclusion, the girls and their running buddies complete a celebratory 5K running event which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals.

Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs to community audiences. Millions of Americans are impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, and you can do something to help by becoming an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator Volunteer. Our ability to reach and support those affected depends on people like you who are dedicated to the fight against this disease. As an Association volunteer, you can use your unique talents to make a meaningful impact in your community while connecting with others who share your passion. 

Key Activities:

• Deliver approximately 12 presentations annually using prepared Alzheimer’s Association evidence-based consumereducation programs on a variety of care and support topics.

• Collaborate with local Association staff to expand programs by securing community partners, scheduling presentations, delivering the programs, and managing needed materials.

• Serve as presenter for chapter-scheduled education programs and conferences.

• Connect people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities by proactively making referrals to Alzheimer's Association programs & free 24/7 Helpline.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success with health education using excellent communication, presentation and adult education skills.

• Comfort with computers and familiarity with email and PPT presentations.

• Ability to network, and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners.

• Passionate about the Alzheimer’s Association mission with personal or professional experience with dementia preferred.

• Must be age 21 to apply. Background checks are required.

Commitment Expected:

• Community Educators commit to delivering a target of 12 presentations annually.

• All program volunteers participate in initial training and ongoing education and must comply with Alzheimer’s Association volunteer policies and procedures.

• Terms are renewable upon successful completion of annual goal-setting conversation with your staff partner.

In Kenosha County, just one in four children read proficiently in third grade, an early indicator of a student's success.

United Way of Kenosha County's Readers Are Leaders tutoring program, in collaboration with Kenosha Unified School District, provides young children in grades kindergarten through third grade with tutors on a regular basis to increase reading achievement in the early grades. 

In just 30 minutes per week, Readers Are Leaders volunteers help students become more confident and capable readers. 

The CMC has many Spanish speaking only clients, so in order to serve all our guests, bilingual volunteer speakers are needed!

Volunteers are needed in both the job search office and for as needed events/immigration assistance. Help is generally needed between the hours of 9am -5pm Monday through Friday. Volunteers can provide assistance for a minimum of 1 hour a week up to as many as is needed, whatever works with your schedule!

Aurora Walker's Point Community Clinic is the largest free clinic in Wisconsin. We are located in Milwaukee and primarily serve people who do not have health insurance, have low incomes, and face challenges to accessing care.  

Volunteers at Walker's Point support everything from making calls or sending letters to patients, helping patients navigate health care systems and technologies, and helping with data entry, to assisting with support groups and educational classes for patients, providing clinical care, conducting eligibility and needs assessments, helping patients connect with community resources, and more.

Oversee Email Accounts of the Organization. Create Donor List/Groups/Labels in the Email Contacts. Keep up to date and build/add Donor Base. 

A Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for overseeing Volunteer activities within our organization. The duties include interviewing and hiring Volunteers, placing Volunteers in different roles based on their qualifications and maintaining accurate Volunteer records.

Volunteer needed to oversee all Social Media Accounts. This includes researching platforms to keep up with best practices. 

Should have the ability to use social media to maintain or build a brand for our organization. They should regularly post text, video and images that engage the market. Great verbal and written communication skills are essential. Should be creative in crafting engaging content. Technical/Computer skills are a must. Skills in learning social media trends and identifying new social media tools is important. Must have an understanding of the trends and techniques of social media as well as the company’s online presence to effectively handle social media marketing. 

Lead Coordinator and team members both needed. Volunteer would do Fundraisers/Events to help raise money for our organization. Need to be creative, energetic, and have an ability to get people involved. Minors may participate on team as long as they have Adult Leader. 

Ticket Scanners: Volunteers will be given a handheld ticket scanning device. Once they are at their assigned gate, a supervisor will train them how to use. Volunteers scan tickets of fans upon entering the stadium. Groups normally stay 30-45 minutes after kick-off and will then be released by their gate supervisor. Approximate shifts 3.5 - 4.5 hours
