Music is a light in the darkness for those affected by Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. The Longest Day is a nationwide opportunity sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association to demonstrate love for those affected by these diseases. Homme Home for the Aging is hosting musicians to spread joy among our residents, especially those in our Memory Care program on The Longest Day. Families, friends, and volunteers are invited to join residents for the musical performances.
The Longest Day will take place on the summer solstice (June 21, 2018). Musicians and/or musical groups will perform throughout the day, throughout our building and, weather permitting, in our courtyard. Families, friends, and volunteers are welcome to join residents in the musical revelry by escorting them to and from the various acts and by reminiscing with them during the performances. Come for the whole day or just a part!
