Who We Are
This members-based group, led by volunteers, gathers periodically for organizational meetings in order to work together with the park manager to organize and fund supplemental park programs, projects and events. The Friends group is part of a statewide network of citizen groups who have “adopted” state parks in order to support facility improvement, expand programs, and stay informed about important natural resources topics within the state.
What We Do
We promote stewardship of the natural resources present in abundance at Willow River and Kinnickinnic parks. We support, assist, and promote the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources with nature interpretive, scientific, historical, recreational, educational and related visitor services at its Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks.
