Who We Are

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army was founded in London, England, in 1865 by William and Catherine Booth and has spread to many parts of the world.

What We Do

Housing: Throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, The Salvation Army provides several programs to help individuals who find themselves in need of temporary housing. Our shelters provide homes for the homeless, food for the hungry, and help for those in despair. Many of our programs are designed to help these individuals get back on their feet and change their lives for the better.

Family Services: We offer several programs to support families in our communities who are in trouble. From sheltering the homeless to developing job skills, The Salvation Army is always there to help families in need. Our mission is to support the families of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan who find themselves in difficult situations and to help them get back on their feet so they can keep their families together.

Disaster Services: The Salvation Army's Disaster Services team is prepared to respond to a disaster immediately anywhere in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The Army has several emergency services vehicles that can provide meals on site as well as act as a communications center to coordinate relief efforts. We are the first on the scene and we don't leave until the community is back on its feet.
