Who We Are

We are Tomahawk Area Interfaith Volunteers, Inc. (TAIV). Our non-profit organization began with a group of committed volunteers between 2006 and 2007.  It is our mission to provide respectful, non-medical, non-professional volunteer assistance to seniors, temporarily homebound, or the disabled of any age so they may remain living in the residence of their choice for as long as feasible. TAIV allows people to put faith into action by establishing compassionate, meaningful relationships with others in the community. We also serve as an information center for people who need help and who need direction in regard to available local and government services.

What We Do

Volunteers for TAIV are recruited, screened and given a personal interview via an orientation session, introducing each new applicant to TAIV's policies and procedures. A match is made according to each volunteer/care receivers personality, preference of hours and job type. An introduction is arranged, so that the care receiver and volunteer may meet and decide upon suitability of match, service provisions, and visitation schedule. The care receiver also completes an application/interview process. After placement, the volunteer will furnish TAIV with a time sheet and mileage,(pertaining to any mileage given), and the Program Director will contact or provide support to the volunteer on a monthly basis or more frequently if necessary.
