Who We Are
To engage persons aged 55 and older in volunteer opportunities to meet the critical needs of their communities while providing a high quality experience that will also enrich the lives of the volunteer. RSVP was established in 1977 to provide services to the community through the sponsorship of Catholic Charities Bureau located in Superior Wisconsin. RSVP's main office is located in Rhinelander and when established in 1977 covered the geographic areas of Vilas, Oneida, Lincoln and Forest Counties. In 2011 due budget cuts in our grants, we downsized the project to only cover Oneida and the Tomahawk area.
What We Do
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) recruits and places senior volunteers in non-profit agencies, schools and health care facilities. We also provide services for the poor, the disadvantaged, the disabled, the elderly and children. RSVP covers Oneida County and the Tomahawk area. RSVP volunteers who love to sew may be interested in our Open Your Heart to Haiti project.Volunteers sew uniforms that are collected and then sent to orphanages in Haiti allowing children to attend school. We offer many volunteer activities from home projects to tutoring children, delivering meals to the homebound, driver escorts, and helping seniors remain in their homes by making minor home repairs.
