Opportunities Unlimited

Opportunities Unlimited exists to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through services that share the good news of Jesus Christ. Our parent organization, Bethesda Lutheran Communities, has been a leader in the field of supporting people with disabilities for over 100 years. Nationwide we support more that 1,000 individuals in both residential and employment and community life centers.

In Rhinelander, Bethesda operates 9 group home residential facilities and 1 Employment and Community Life Center. Opportunities Unlimited Employment and Community Life Center, located on Highway G near Nicolet College, has been a long standing resident of the community previously locally owned by Peterson Health Care. Individuals come to our facility from both Bethesda and non-Bethesda group homes, their own apartments or from family living situations. Here they find a variety of options to make their day meaningful.

Opportunities Unlimited is an Employment and Community Life Center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our foremost goal is to provide meaningful work and activities for the individuals we support consistent with their desires, interests and abilities. We partner with local businesses in meeting their needs for clerical, janitorial, vending, and other work by providing workers and job coaches on-site. We also offer people the opportunity to work at our workshop thereby increasing their vocational skills, promoting self worth and providing paychecks. Opportunities Unlimited offers high-interest classes and skill building opportunities as well as sensory programs for those so desiring. Our community integration program promotes involvement in events and activities going on throughout the year.
