Who We Are
Our Mission: Faithful to the values that guide the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother our Mission is to further the healing ministry of Jesus by continually improving the health and well being of all people, especially the poor, in the communities we serve.
The hospital was founded in 1893 by the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, who recruited volunteer help from the community at their outset. Our present organization is a blend of an Auxiliary and a Volunteer group. Today's volunteers are recognized as an integral part of the hospital's mission to deliver quality health care services to our patients.
What We Do
Ministry Saint Mary's Hospital (MSMH) Volunteers are health care advocates for the hospital and communities it serves. MSMH is a 72-bed hospital that provides tertiary care to people living in Oneida, Forest and Vilas counties and beyond. A physician clinic and state-of-the art cancer center are also located on the hospital's medical campus. Our Volunteers offer help to hospital staff, physicians, patients and visitors. We have several services areas inside the hospital and outreach into the community. Most volunteer opportunities are offered Monday through Friday in 3-4 hour shifts.
