Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity of Grant County (HFHGC) is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Int'l, a nonprofit, Christian, housing organization. HFHGC works in partnership with people in need to build & renovate decent, affordable, housing. HFHGC became an official affiliate of HFHI in 2001. Since then we have built 9 houses in Southwest Wisconsin. Our first building project was a fire restoration in Lancaster. The 8 builds since then have all been "stick builds" in Boscobel, Potosi, Lancaster, Benton and Cuba City. Our 10th house is currently under construction and we are in need of volunteers. All work days are scheduled on Saturdays from May through November.

What We Do

The houses HFHGC builds are simple, decent, structures and are not hand-outs. Volunteers provide most of the labor, alongside our partner family, and individual and corporate donors provide the money & materials to build or renovate Habitat homes. The homes are sold to partner families at no profit, with no interest charged. Each partner family provides "sweat equity" working on their homes and/or the homes of other Habitat families. All mortgage payments and donations go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
