Who We Are
The Columbia County Office of Emergency Management is responsible for responding to any kind of crisis situation in the event that a local municipality exhausts all their local resources. Being able to contact volunteers may be a very invaluable tool.
What We Do
We write emergency response plans as well as assist locals with their emergency plans too. We conduct as well as participate in exercises on a regular basis to better prepare our first responders. The four phases of Emergency Management used to help prevent loss of life and property are: PREPAREDNESS, RESPONSE, RECOVERY, AND MITIGATION. Many times the Emergency Management offices are the coordinators when the incident is localized only.
