Who We Are

We are Circus World, a unique museum and historic site located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, on the original winter quarters of the Ringling Bros. Circus. Spanning 64 acres, we are dedicated to celebrating the wonder, artistry, and legacy of the American circus. Home to the world’s largest collection of restored historic circus wagons, thousands of rare artifacts, and seven National Historic Landmark buildings, Circus World is where the magic of circus history comes to life! Founded in 1959 on the original site of the Ringling Bros. Circus winter quarters, Circus World was established to preserve and celebrate one of America’s most iconic cultural legacies. Operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society, it has grown into a national treasure—combining world-class museum collections with live performances, events, and educational programming.

What We Do

At Circus World, our mission is to preserve and celebrate the rich heritage of the American circus while inspiring wonder, joy, and curiosity in audiences of all ages. We aim to educate, entertain, and honor the creativity, skill, and spirit of circus past and present.
