What We Do

Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing solutions in Northwest Wisconsin. Since 1997, we have served Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Polk, Price, Rusk, Taylor, and Washburn Counties, constructing over 50 new homes and completing more than 450 critical home repairs . Our Programs and Services: New Home Construction: Partnering with eligible families to build safe, affordable homes. Home Repair Programs: Offering critical repairs, accessibility modifications, and energy efficiency upgrades to help homeowners maintain safe and healthy living conditions. Veteran Support: Providing specialized repair programs for disabled and low-income veterans, ensuring they can live independently and safely. Emergency Assistance: Offering mortgage and rent assistance to prevent homelessness during financial hardships. USDA 502 Direct Loan Packaging: Assisting eligible applicants in navigating the USDA loan process for affordable homeownership. ReStores: Operating retail outlets in Spooner that sell donated home goods and building materials, with proceeds supporting our housing programs . Youth Engagement: Hosting programs like the Girls Can Build Camp to empower young women with construction skills and promote careers in the trades. We welcome volunteers, donors, and community partners to join us in building homes, communities, and hope.
