Who We Are
Our mission is to lift families to their fullest potential. To bring this to life, we will: Create a space that is safe to be who you are Listen and believe the experience of others Practice unconditional positive regard for people Commit to interrupting the cycle of poverty Model self care, connection to others, and responsibility to community
What We Do
Grace House, our transitional shelter for women and children, is starting the process of finding qualified volunteers to join our mission in helping families.
The volunteer role would be ideal for social work, nursing, psychology, child advocacy, and child education students and grads or anyone who has experience in any of the mentioned areas, however not necessary as training is provided.
Volunteers would be required to pass a background check, attend ongoing training, and commit to a minimum of one shift per week.
(Typically 4 hours)
Ideal applicants will have a passion for helping families, be empathetic, dependable, have excellent communication skills, and understand and practice confidentiality.
Volunteers will help families by modeling positive social interactions and parenting skills, budgeting, healthy lifestyle skills, cooking and nutrition, resume writing, and employment related skills.
