Who We Are
Sunshine Resources of Door County enriches lives to nurture and inspire the human spirit. With Care, Compassion, Partnership and Integrity. Sunshine Resources, formally Sunshine House, has been serving those with developmental disabilities for 49 years. Started in a small house by families whose (often adult) children had no where to go for life skills and enrichment, this organization continues to provide not only these aforementioned skills, but employment, education, and connection. To support employment and job skills training, we provide printing services, transportation, partnerships with local manufacturing companies, and a resale shop. Recently, we began to serve seniors with memory-related diseases as part of our mission.
What We Do
Sunshine House Day Services offers a wide range of educational and recreational programming to adults of all abilities in Door and Kewaunee Counties. We provide Day Services where clients' strengths, needs and desires are identified, with programming and activities designed to both allow for fun and recreation, as well as develop skills in the needed areas. The Sunflower Cottage offers individualized programs for people living with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, and other age related challenge. Our Life Enrichment Program offers therapeutic activities and socialization in a safe, structured, family-like environment. We also provide transportation services, job training and education, mailing services, shredding services, and host community events regularly.
