Wisconsin – Volunteer Wisconsin has launched a new website featuring a centralized volunteer portal for non-profits to post volunteer opportunities. The website www.volunteerwisconsin.org is a partnership with the Volunteer Center Association of Wisconsin and the volunteer portal is made possible by a partnership with Serve Wisconsin and We-Partner.
The second phase will be promoting the website to the public as a one-stop resource for finding volunteer opportunities in all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.
For communities with an existing volunteer center or online volunteer connecting site the Volunteer Wisconsin website will direct individuals to those existing local infrastructures so nonprofits do not need to post on duplicate sites.
“The volunteer portal will provide a resource to the more than half of Wisconsin counties that do not have an online site connecting individuals to volunteer opportunities in their community,” says Bruns.
The volunteer portal also features disaster volunteer through We-Partner, which includes partners including the Office of Justice Assistance, Wisconsin VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), and Wisconsin Emergency Management.
In addition to the volunteer portal, the website hosts a range of resources related to volunteering for nonprofits and individuals from tips on volunteering this holiday season to information about upcoming volunteer management trainings.
To post your volunteer opportunities on the website visit www.volunteerwisconsin.org and click “Organizations” and then “Post Volunteer Opportunities”. With questions contact the Volunteer Registry Coordinator Melanie Bloom at 262-338-8256. ### |
